Week Recap (Keep on Keeping On)

Elon Musk once said something like, "Starting a business is like chewing glass while staring into the abyss."

I can see why he says that.

Our brains love consistency and stability. Getting a startup on its feet is everything opposite of anything stable. Let me share with you what happened this week in a nutshell.

Every day I went to a few new businesses to pitch my story of the Espresso melts, Purple Potato Vodka and the Cacao Nectar Sorbetto.

You walk in never knowing what will happen, you walk out not knowing if they actually liked your product or just trying to get you out. Some owners/managers/workers are welcoming, others come off as if their hearts are in a deep freeze. You NEVER know what you're walking into.

One of the days after a meeting, I was walking out of a store and realized...You are the one who believes in the product. Therefore, it is up to the belief levels between you and the potential client. It seems as if the game is about who transfers their belief more.

This week I got a few yeses,(always awesome.) I got some No's and a bunch of maybes (great learning curves.)

Every time you walk in, you have to be upbeat. And every time things don't go perfect, it's up to you to either take it personally or look at it as a lesson.

I keep reminding myself, "I'm looking for my tribe of coffee lovers." At least for the Espresso Melts.

My goal is to sell the first 100,000 Espresso Melts to prove the concept so I can go to step TWO to sell the business in a box. That way I can sell more of chocolate by the pound and actually make a good impact on the Stranded Coffee Beans of Hawaii.

So far I'm at 1,220 candies of the 100,000 goal. WAHOOOOOO.
